The joy of learning combined with a safe and nurturing learning environment are vital incentives in the search for new knowledge.
Today, about 1,250 children are registered in the nursery schools of Skurup, while 1,900 students attend an elementary school or junior high school.
In the early 1990’s, the so called “Skurup model” was introduced. The key concept of this model was to coordinate the working methods of the nursery schools and the elementary schools in order to create good conditions for a life-long learning process.
The Skurup model has been successful, much due to the commitment and competence of the teachers. However, it is important to review the teaching practices on a continuous basis, thereby paving the way for necessary improvements.
